Freedom of speech and censorship: How free are we?

Tuesday, May 25. 2010

The ability to access information and communicate is extremely important in Australia; although there are still challenges in the way we express ourselves the Internet has made it easier for personal views to be accepted.

It is clear Australia has come a long way in terms of freedom of speech and censorship and is a very tolerant country, we have the ability to defend and engage ours and other Australians point of views.

Topics in which freedom of speech may become an issue include; terrorism, euthanasia and crime- these themes may have consequences, depending on where, when and how personal views are expressed.

Please share your views on how free you think we are in terms of freedom of speech and censorship:

Do you believe the internet has changed the way we express ourselves in regards to freedom of speech?
