Choosing a school is a huge decision for any parent. Not only is it complex decision it is also a financial dilemma. As a parent you need to answer so many questions: public or private? co-ed or single sex? when? where? and these aren't the only questions a parent needs to answer. It may be important for you to discuss the decision with your children, parents, partner and your childrens current teacher or carer, everyone may produce different points, but most will be valid and help add to your final decision.

DrinkWise has released it's second campagin to education Australian parents and teenagers about consuming alcohol. The campaign entitled Kids and Alcohol Don't Mix aims to educate parents about why we now need to delay the age in which teenagers first try alcohol. The idea is to empower parents by imparting them with knowledge and igniting a discussion parent to parent. This comes as Professor Ian Hickie from the Brain and Mind Research Institute releases a summary which concludes that alcohol should not be consumed by teenagers under the age of 18 and alcohol use is best postponed for as long as possible in the late teenage and early adult years.

Flora has launced a national health campaign in regards to cholesterol consumption; the aim of the campaign is to encourage Australians to base their food choices on the facts, as many consumers are being duped by cholesterol claims in foods. Cholesterol levels in adult Australians are very high. 50% of Australians are affected by high cholesterol, and the campaign is ensuring that Australians choose meals and food that have cholesterol lowering benefits. Many foods say they are good for our cholesterol, but don't tell the whole story...

Where is the Modern Man? and if we find him, do we want him? or do we want the dreamy heart-throb from the Hollywood movies? I'm guessing you like me said 'mm... Zac Efron or Hugh Jackman'. Now take a second, do we really want that character? Do we think those type of men actually exist? Aren't they acting? Now who do you want Hollywood heart-throb or modern man?
