A recent survey stated that “92% of Australian women believe that they do not enjoy equal rights.” The survey was conducted “by leading cosmetic company the Heat Group and UNIFEM Australia, the United Nations Development Fund for women”.

Women still feel the need to conform to traditional female roles at home which makes it harder to balance a work and home life. The study showed that close to half of the women surveyed believed domestic commitments and the lack of support in the household meant they couldn’t work longer hours in the office which ultimately lead to a female barrier in being promoted in the professional world.
