Professor John Rasko - Visiting Academician

RCPA has explained that “one of Australia’s best known Pathologists and stem cell researchers, Professor John Rasko, has been honoured by the Academy of Medicine of Singapore with the title of Visiting Academician.”


Professor John Rasko a Fellow of the Royal College of Pathologists Australasia (RCPA) is the foundation Director of the Department of Cell and Molecular Therapies at Sydney’s Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. Professor Rasko also leads the Gene and Stem Cell Therapy program at the University of Sydney’s Centenary Institute.

Professor John Rasko enjoyed his visit to Singapore earlier this month gave him the opportunity to meet local pathologists working in the same field, he said;

“Being named Visiting Academician gives me more opportunities to share current research findings with medical professionals in Singapore, particularly the latest findings in stem cell research,” says Professor Rasko.

“The sharing of knowledge is vital if we are to overcome diseases.  My aim as a clinical haematologist is to work with colleagues to cure serious diseases using the platform technologies of gene therapy and adult stem cells, concluded Professor Rasko.
