Microsoft has kick-started its Marry Me Microsoft social experiment which challenges one couple to plan their entire wedding in one week, from one location.
While his wife-to-be Jenny relaxes on the Gold Coast, Mike is living outside of Sydney's Customs House inside a bachelor bubble, equipped only with Microsoft’s tech tools and $25k towards planning their wedding and honeymoon.

Would you propose to your partner?

After watching Sex and the City re-runs I began wondering is it more acceptable now for a woman to ask a man to marry her? Charlotte proposes to Trey after only a month of dating because she is anxious to receive his proposal; she then feels sorry for asking because she feels traditionally that the man should propose.

Does tradition still prevail or is okay for either gender to pop the question?

More than 10% of proposals are taking place on February 14th rather than other key dates, such as Christmas, New Years and Birthdays.

In 2009, the number of couples who will marry will remain fairly steady. If the economy recovers its recent crisis we may see an increase in weddings. Wedding spending has increased a lot overtime and still will, in 2009, if their is an increase in the market. The average wedding cost is between $20,000 and $26,000. Due to the increase in spending couples have increased their reliance on family and friends to help plan and pay for their big day whilst online Invitations and RSVP's have taken over from tradional mail-in and off-peak weddings times have become increasingly popular. Research has showed that more than 12,000 US couples will shop online for wedding gifts, espeically if there is an online wedding registry.
