Well, we kept you waiting long enough and this is just the first announcement, many more big fat inclusions to come. But here it is.... one of the most highly-anticipated festival line-ups is finally and officially dropping now - THE 2010 PLAYGROUND WEEKENDER 1ST ANNOUNCEMENT IS HERE!

News and rumours have leaked over the last few weeks that James Lavelle, Prins Thomas, Jamie Lidell, AIRA award winner Bertie Blackman and drum and bass godfather LTJ Bukem were joining the ranks of the infamous four-day Weekender party...what a tease.

Well, the award-winning crowds of Playground Weekender [Festival Awards Best Crowd And Atmosphere, 2008 &2009] have been kept in the dark long enough . We are now delighted to reveal the first cast of musical luminaries to be playing at the 2010 Playground Weekender.

Full details of the line-up can be found below. We have a mesmerizingly eclectic list headliners for this year’s epic 4-day event. Grammy nominated Lupe Fiasco, the man who brought a ‘breath of fresh air’ (Jay Z) to the world of Hip Hop with his hugely successful ‘Lupe Fiasco’s Food & Liquor’ will be there. He will be joined by Polyphonic Spree, the choral symphonic rock collective who is set to sprinkle a little purity, hope and happiness on this year’s festival. And to complete the oddly wonderful pack we bring you the The Cribs (Britain’s Q Magazine as ‘the biggest cult band in the UK’)

There is a light hearted inclusion to kick off Dress Up Saturdays, Australia’s biggest fancy dress party. Taking centre stage on that day will be none other than the ABBA parody foursome, Bjorn Again.
