Russian Resurrection Film Festival Tickets

Russian Resurrection is the largest celebration of Russian culture within Australia and the 2011 programme features 15 outstanding new Russian features, including many Australian and international premieres, along with a retrospective of 5 Russian classics. Highlights include WHO AM I?, STOKER, THE EDGE, INNOCENT SATURDAY, Russia’s box office hit, LUCKY TROUBLE, and a sumptuous version of THE NUTCRACKER IN 3D (in English) starring Nathan Lane and Elle Fanning.
The 8th annual Australian festival of Russian films, Russian Resurrection, has announced its official lineup
for 2011. The program features 15 outstanding new Russian features, including many Australian and
international premieres, along with a retrospective of 5 Russian classics including the 1980 Oscar® Award
Winner for Best Foreign Language Film, MOSCOW DOES NOT BELIEVE IN TEARS.
The Festival will also showcase two Russian box office hits, LUCKY TROUBLE, a comedy starring
Hollywood actress Milla Jovovich (THE FIFTH ELEMENT, RESIDENT EVIL) and SIX DGREES OF
CELEBRATION, a comedy by renowned director Timur Bekhmambetov.
Additional Festival highlights include ELENA, a drama from Andrei Zviagintsev, one of the most successful
Russian directors of the past decade, THE EDGE, nominated for Best Foreign Film at the 2011 Golden
Globe® Awards and BREST FORTRESS, which recounts a pivotal event in Russian history during World
War II and serves as an example of Russia’s ability to produce some of cinema’s finest war dramas.
Two stunning children’s 3D animations will also have their Australian debut at the Festival including the first
ever Armenian-Russian co-production, KUKARACHA, and a fantasy film adaption of the iconic ballet, THE
NUTCRACKER IN 3D starring Elle Fanning and Nathan Lane.
Russian Resurrection is the largest celebration of Russian culture within Australia and guests can once
again look forward to experiencing some famed Russian hospitality and entertainment at each capital city’s
event.
The Festival will take place around Australia from 18 August until 21 September and in Melbourne will run
from 18 to 28 August at Palace Cinema Como.
