Sean (Kerr Smith, TV¹s Dawson¹s Creek, Final Destination, Broken Hearts Club) is on a cross-country road trip to attend his sister's wedding, when he does the one thing he was warned not to do; He picks up a hitchhiker. Soon, this casual trip is transformed into a surreal nightmare of hapless victims and bloodletting vampires.

Sean's new companion, Nick (Brendan Fehr, Final Destination, Disturbing Behaviour), is infected with a deadly 'blood disease'. He is not the laid back, aimless traveller he seems to be. He is a hunter. And his prey are a roving band of forsaken youths who feed upon hapless victims found in the dead of night in a word, vampires.

With each mysterious delay, Sean is in jeopardy of missing his sister's wedding. Sean and Nick pick up a dazed and frightened girl, Megan, who has been left for dead by the vampires. Unfortunately, Megan is not only a victim, but also human bait. Soon, Sean is infected and finally forces Nick to tell him everything he knows about the legend of the forsaken.

What started as a casual cross-country trip, has now become a deadly race against time.
