FACE is an art inspired contemporary fashion showcase and is for all those who adore, live and breath fashion and entertainment. FACE Fashion is becoming a fashion event known for emerging designers in Australia to showcase their fabulous collections.

Marvin Osifo is a young entrepreneur who founded FACE with Kevin Osifo in 2007. Marvin built FACE from the ground and is not only building his own business but giving designers a real chance at bringing their labels to life through FACE.

Tell me a bit about FACE:

Marvin Osifo: Since my brother Kevin and I moved to Sydney in 1992 from Nigeria we have been heavily involved in Australian fashion and events and always noticed the lack of opportunities for new and emerging Australian designers. Our genuine interest in assisting emerging talent combined with fashion, nightlife and events experience led us to establish FACE fashion.

In just over one year since its inception, FACE fashion has become a platform for new and emerging Australian designers. We have been lucky enough to have several high profile media personalities hosting our events - Toni Pearen, Sam Brett and our latest host, Chanel 9's Kelly Landry just to name a few. These events have been warmly received by media, celebrity guests as well as attending members of the public - who are able to experience all the thrills of a high profile fashion event without the high price tag.

FACE Fashion is dedicated to organising professional up-market fashion shows for new and emerging Australian designers. We are so passionate about what we do, integrating new fashion talents with our resources to showcase their brand and products to Australia.

What inspired you to create FACE?

Marvin Osifo: I have been involved in fashion and events for many years and lack of opportunities for fresh, start-up Australian designers just astounded me. FACE creates a fantastic platform for young Australian designers to showcase their work to a huge audience of media, celebrities and fashion lovers.

What good and bad experiences have you gone through in creating your FACE?

Marvin Osifo: There has been so many fantastic experiences with FACE. Everything from unearthing new talent, meeting new designers, working with great people and being able to actually do what I love, that's one of the most incredible things. Also, having big companies like Microsoft sponsoring us and getting behind Australian talent is such a huge feat and something I am really proud of. The only bad thing is there is not enough time in the day to get everything done - but that's were my awesome team come in.

Tell me a bit about FACE Fashion?

Marvin Osifo: FACE Fashion is dedicated to organising Professional up-market fashion shows for new and emerging Australian designers. We are so passionate about providing a hand up to these talented guys. We integrating new fashion, nightlife and entertainment so that we can provide the full fashion experience. The shows are a great celebration of Aussie talent.

How do you choose your designers?

Marvin Osifo: We literally scour the streets, fashion schools, markets and online world to bring to light the best, upcoming fashion talent that Sydney has to offer. Lots of designers also apply online through our website. You get to see some amazing stuff!

Who do you look up to?

Marvin Osifo: I have lot of people I look up to from different stages of my life. People that start their own businesses with nothing and becoming great leaders today - icon's like Richard Branson, Donald Trump, Roberto Cavallo but most of all my parents.

Describe your style?

Marvin Osifo: Versatile - my style is very dependant on the occasion as well as how I am feeling that day.

Whose style do you admire most?

Marvin Osifo: I'm a big fan of DSQUARED by Dean & Dan Caten two Canadian fashion designers.

Favourite shop?

Marvin Osifo: I don't really have a favourite shop as such. I like to explore places like the fashion markets and back street stores. I try and shop in several places to keep my style changing. It's so easy to get stuck in a fashion rut when you are only sourcing your style from one place. It's all about personalisation - taking a bit from here, bit from there and making it your own.

Did you have any pre-conceived ideas about the fashion industry?

Marvin Osifo: The fashion industry is such a moving beast, growing, developing and changing everyday and just I saw this huge gap - we have so many talented designers in Australia but only the lucky few were ever getting noticed. This is one of the main reasons why I developed FACE. I really wanted to get more involved and give young Australian designers some much needed support in promoting their labels and getting their work out their. It can be a really a tough gig otherwise.
