Uber is excited to team up with Victoria Racing Club (VRC) to announce that for the first time the Melbourne Cup Carnival will have dedicated safe pick-up and drop-off zones, providing racegoers with another reliable and affordable transport option to get to and from Flemington Racecourse

Located at the Main Gate, Elms Gate and Hill Gate, Uber will provide an additional travel option for the hundreds of thousands of people expected to visit Flemington Racecourse over the four days of the Melbourne Cup Carnival.

Whether you're mixing with celebrities in the Birdcage, setting up camp in The Nursery,  soaking up the atmosphere in the stands, or enjoying the racing from the front lawn trackside, getting to or from the races will be a sure bet.

Upon arrival our concierge team will welcome guests in our dedicated safe drop off zones. As well as opening the door, all riders will be chaperoned to the gates, ensuring everyone arrives in style for the big day.

Thanks to DrinkWise, when it's time to leave, our custom-built safe pick up zones will help racegoers leave refreshed and recharged in a safe and reliable ride.

To help festive punters stay classy there will be mints and Cool Ridge water, while phone charging stations will keep friends connected.

Although we expect heavy traffic and detours around the racecourse, thousands of local residents will be sharing rides to ensure transport to and from Flemington is as reliable as running water.

How to order your ride

1: Make your way to one of the three on-site safe pick up zones. You can find us by following the signs on-site, or by opening your Uber app and following the prompts. The safe pick-up zones are located in the following areas of the venue:

2: Request like a pro. Once you've requested in the safe pick-up zone, kick back and charge your phone, grab a water, and wait for your ride to arrive.

3: Your Uber is arriving now. When your driver arrives, you'll receive a text message from them to let you know which bay they're waiting in.

4: Enjoy the ride! An on-site member of Uber staff will direct you to your driver's vehicle.
