MYO is the senior performing group of Melbourne Youth Music. Each year young players are chosen from auditions to join the annual program. The weekly rehearsal, tutorials and sectionals, along with a program of public performance, offers these players a unique opportunity to gain invaluable orchestral experience, learning of repertoire and the chance to work with highly respected tutors, musicians and conductors, developing not only musically but in self confidence and self esteem. MYO has received accolades from the media, and its public performances have included both introducing new young players and soloists as well as working with respected professional musicians such as David Helfgott and Brett Dean.
