To welcome the winter weather Medibank Icehouse's Winter Skate Festival is bigger and better than ever with fun activities and giveaways including a jam packed school holiday program.
Winter Skate Festival program from June 1st to August 31st will include: Family happy hour: every Saturday and Sunday between 12 and 1pm there will be a dedicated family rink, free beginner lessons and skate aids provided free of charge Themed evenings: this includes Tight Ice Tuesday and Glow weekends Free Beginner lessons: will run every weekend with four free lessons daily during the school holidays Under 8's Ice Fun: Under 8's and parents can go on the ice in shoes to gain their confidence and then take part in lots of ice play fun

MARKET CHEF sees students from high schools across the Sunshine Coast work their foodie magic in the outdoor kitchen every Wednesday from 10am - 11am during Term 2, with eight weeks of cooking demonstrations.
Market Manager Peter Homan says the MARKET CHEF 'cook-offs' are a real challenge for the students as they are only told the theme – not the particular recipes - prior to each week. This keeps the young Market Chefs on their toes!

IPAF and ATOM announce call for entries for the inaugural MY STORY MY CONTENT SHORT FILM COMPETITION.
Students of all ages will focus on the value of creativity in the My Story My Content Short Film Competition announced today by the Intellectual Property Awareness Foundation (IPAF) and Australian Teachers of Media (ATOM).
Entries do not have to fit into any one genre, and may be fiction or non-fiction. They may be live-action, animation, or a combination of both. |

Comprising large-scale photographs by documentary photographer, Mine Konakci, A convict in the family? explores the connection between convict settlers, their living descendants and the petty crimes that changed the course of their family history. |
