Tom Jones at The Star Event Centre

Date:Monday, 21 March 2016

Sydney’s premier entertainment destination, The Star is delighted to announce superstar Tom Jones will perform live in concert in the intimate setting of The Star Event Centre on Monday, 21 March 2016.

The Bluesfest headliner has extended his 2016 Australian tour to take in a further five headline shows, including one intimate Sydney show in the award-winning Event Centre, located on the rooftop of The Star.

Over his 50 year career, Tom Jones has sold more than 100 million records, won a Grammy and two Brit Awards and given us countless hits including; ‘It's Not Unusual’, ‘Delilah’, ‘Green, Green Grass of Home’, ‘Kiss’, ‘If I Only Knew’, ‘Mama Told Me’, ‘Burning Down The House’ and ‘Sex Bomb’.

His career has remarkably gone from strength to strength. Along with sustaining his popularity as a live performer and recording artist for five decades, he has garnered - at the age of 75 - the best reviews of his career for his two most recent albums Spirit In The Room and Praise & Blame.

The Star, Managing Director, Greg Hawkins said: “We are excited to present a special one-night-only experience by megastar Sir Tom Jones in the intimate setting of The Star Event Centre, utilising world-class technical and audio visual facilities.”

His irresistible show traverses musical eras and genres, cuts across class divides and appeals to young and old, male and female, mainstream and cutting edge.

Teeth & Tongue

Venue:Hugs & Kisses, 22 Sutherland Street, Melbourne
Date:Friday 4th December

Teeth & Tongue is taking time out from working on a new record to play a special one-off club show at Hugs & Kisses on December 4th in Melbourne. This will be your last chance to see the band before mid 2016.

2015 has seen the band (and some-time solo project of Jess Cornelius) release a new single and video, tour the country with Courtney Barnett and team up with artist Keith Deverall for an incredible sold-out performance at Melbourne’s historic theatre Estonian House.

Synth pop genius/guitar hero Darren Sylvester is joining Teeth & Tongue for the evening (and bringing his outrageous band), and this being a summer party you can expect nothing but the hits. The Rocks Summer Festival

Venue:The Rocks, First Fleet Park, Atherden Street, George St, Jack Mundey Place, Playfair St.
Date:Tuesday 26 January, 2016
Time:12:30– 6:00 pm

The Rocks precinct will be transformed into a colourful urban playground for Australia Day 2016 (Tue 26 Jan, 12.30-6pm), featuring a free all-day music program with some of Australia’s hottest new bands; great eats; markets and a relaxed summer vibe.

Sydney Harbour Foreshore Authority is very proud to play a key role in Australia Day 2016, with a day of special events planned for Australia’s premier tourist and historic precinct, The Rocks.

From noon to early evening the precinct will come alive, starting with Jaunt on George Street. The normally bustling street will convert into a cool, relaxed, urban space, complete with a croquet green from Croquet NSW, a caravan playing Triple J’s iconic hottest 100, instant photo booth, and an opportunity to ‘sky gaze’ in comfort.

Two main stages: Warrane at First Fleet Park and Tallawoladah at Atherden Street; will be home for the day to a who’s who of eclectic, Australian summer sounds.

Alt-pop legend Katy Steele of Little Birdy fame; the Melbourne Ska Orchestra; smooth soulful sensation Thandi Phoenix; pop-outfit Jinja Safari; and high-energy Indigenous Torres Strait Island rapper, Mau Power; will rock the Warrane Stage.

Sydney based folktronica songstress Gordi; electronic duo Left.; ethereal Indigenous Brisbane singer-songwriter Robbie Miller; Sydney’s old school soul and R&B connoisseurs JONES Jnr.; and prolific Aussie hip-hop artist Tuka; will spread the good vibes from Tallawoladah Stage.

With arts and crafts markets, food markets, a sun-soaked harbour view, cool tunes and relaxed summery feel, The Rocks will again be the place to celebrate the very best of Sydney life this Australia Day.

The Rocks is easy to get to by public transport or is a short stroll or bicycle ride from the CBD. Australia Day at The Rocks attracted more than 100,000 visitors between midday and 6pm in 2015.

22nd Annual Thredbo Blues

Date:15th to 17th January 2016
Booking:www.thredbo.com.au or 1300 020 589.

Fresh off the back of an outstanding season of winter headline acts, The Preatures, The Rubens and Gang of Youths, Thredbo’s dream run of musical talent continues into summer, as the alpine region announces one of the most celebrated Blues festival line-ups to date. Featuring twenty-five of Australia’s greatest blues acts including Russell Morris, Andy Just (USA) and Gail Page, the family friendly resort proves its offerings are just as impressive when the snow has melted.

From 15th to 17th January 2016, Thredbo will be thriving with Blues fans and their families, as the event highlights the region’s year-round offering. This summer, Thredbo is also pleased to announce the return of Aria Hall of Fame inductee, #1 selling artist and Australian Icon Russell Morris, back due to popular demand. In contrast, this year’s event will also feature Thredbo Blues first timer and one of the hardest working musicians on the blues scene today, the spectacular Andy Just.

Set to showcase many of Australia’s top ladies in blues, including Fiona Boyes who has received four successive USA Blues Music Awards nominations, The Voice’s Gail Page and powerfully raw songstress Genevieve Chadwick, Thredbo Blues is one not to be missed.

Thredbo Blues is also excited to welcome The Pearl Show to the stage for the first time in 2016, offering a vintage funk tour delving into the music, obsessions and passions of Janis Joplin. Celebrating a woman who exploded onto the music scene in the late 1960’s to quickly become the queen of rock ‘n’ roll and mother of thrift shop vintage funk, fans will re-live Joplin’s rebellious lifestyle and her distinctive voice with the group’s powerful renditions.

N’fa Jones Touring with Remi

The first taste for 2014 of N’fa Jones forthcoming album Black + White Noise is ‘Money Better Come’. The title of the track speaks for itlself. ‘Money Better Come’ is a Styalz Fuego production with Kaylen Behr featuring on the chorus giving it that good ol’ fashion Summer vibe we all need.
Summing up the way N’fa Jones often feels the life of an artist plays out, the track comes with fun and clever video clip directed by Nic McRobbie. While reflecting on the fragility of life, N’fa still manages to poke a bit of fun at himself, while singing (yep singing) melodies, telling an honest story, and of course kickin a rapped verse to keep the Hip Hop alive.
Get a taste for it while N’fa is on national tour with fellow House of Beige family member and triple j Unearthed winner Remi through February.

Friday 7th Feb - Coniston Lane Front Room (Ex-Wasteland) – Brisbane w/ Remi
Saturday 8th Feb – Northcote Social Club - Melbourne w/ Remi

The Superjesus 2014 Tour Dates

Respected Aussie rock outfit The Superjesus is hitting the road for the Australia Day long weekend, celebrating in fine style with three live shows.  They’ll kick off on 24th January at Waves Wollongong, then head to Bateau Bay Hotel on the 25th, with a massive Australia Day gig on 26th January at Garrison Point, Bankstown.

Following their successful ‘Reformation’ tour earlier this year, which saw the band playing live for the first time in ten years, The Superjesus has been working on new material and are looking forward to road testing it on their fans, with further live dates to come.

The Superjesus rose to prominence in Adelaide in 1994, and was eagerly embraced for their electrifying live shows, spearheaded by charismatic front woman, Sarah McLeod.  They were quick to find support from national broadcaster Triple J and were on their way, enjoying multiplatinum album success with Sumo, Jetage and Rock Music and delivering hit singles such as ‘Gravity’, ‘Secret Agent Man’, ‘Shut My Eyes’ and ‘Down Again’.

The Superjesus live in January 2014:

Friday 24th Waves, Wollongong
