Helen Shanahan I Only Hide Shows

Helen Shanahan has today announced the release of her stirring new single, I Only Hide, out February 17.  In I Only Hide, Helen offers considerate comfort to those who suffer from anxiety; a comfort that only true empathy can provide.  The song is fittingly accompanied by an honest and heartfelt video, featuring the pertinent storyline of ‘the two Helens’ and was produced in collaboration with Danny Martin and Elliot Smith of Villanova Music (Tim Minchin).  Helen has also announced a string of hometown shows to celebrate I Only Hide, which kicked off at the Perth Fringe Festival last week and will be followed by the official single launch at Villanova Music on February 15, wrapping up with a coveted slot at the Perth International Arts Festival on March 4.

Milky Chance Stolen Dance Tour

2014’s Sadnecessary, the band’s debut album featuring the multi platinum global hit ‘Stolen Dance’ (4 x Platinum in Australia / #4 on triple j's Hottest 100), earned ecstatic praise from all over the world with ‘Stolen Dance’ taking the coveted number one spot in several countries, becoming "most blogged about act" on Hype Machine and is the 16th most Shazamed song of all time - solidifying the group as one of the world’s biggest breakout success stories!
The last time the duo were in the country they played two sold-out shows in Sydney and Melbourne, as well as massive festival slots at Falls, Southbound and Field day, with many hailing the psychedelic folk act as ‘stand outs’ of the 2014 festival circuit. With the Sydney Morning Herald posing the question, “How do you know a hit? When everyone at the festival stops what they're doing and sprints towards the music.” When their song ‘Stolen Dance’ hit the Valley stage in Byron, thousands of punters ran to join in the mass revelry, including the biggest line dance ever performed! It was a magic moment and one of the highlights of the festival.
After two years of solid touring including playing some of the worlds biggest festivals the German duo emerged late last year with 'Cocoon', signaling to their fans the arrival of a new album. The single has just achieved Gold-status in Australia, while on Spotify the track quickly amassed over 19 million plays and counting. The video has stirred up 4 million-plus YouTube/VEVO views with its gentle and seamless fusion of electronic vibes and folky singer-songwriter flourishes.
Blossom (Neon Records/Universal Music Australia) will be available in stores and at all digital retailers on Friday March 17, 2017. The online pre-order is live HERE and immediately enables instant downloads of the lead single ‘Cocoon’ and new track ‘Doing Good’.
If the first three offerings are anything to go by, Blossom promises to be one of this year’s most hotly anticipated releases!

2017 marks 10 years since Alt pop trio The Wombats released their debut record A Guide To Love, Loss & Desperation. These shows will be a celebration of all things The Wombats and showcasing a selection of the bands biggest hit across Glitterbug, This Modern Glitch and will close with all of your favorite tracks off A Guide to Love, Loss and Desperation.
A message from The Wombats:
“Hey Australia, so we're playing Groovin' the Moo this year and we thought whilst we were over it would be rude not to do some sideshows as we're celebrating 10 years since the release of our 1st album! Our 1st baby is 10, we can't believe how much he's grown. We look forward to having a few massive birthday parties for the little blighter. Hope you can make it! - PS New music coming this year!”
The Wombats have an uncanny knack for writing incredibly catchy songs. A Guide To Love, Loss and Desperation, featuring indie-rock cult classic ‘Lets Dance to Joy Division’, is a witty collection of dance floor-filling indie pop gems that are loaded with savvy pop culture references, angsty coming-of-age observations and utterly infectious hooks. Selling over a million copies worldwide, the album went platinum in the UK and Gold in Australia, soared up the heart-seeker charts in the US, and was the triple j feature album of December 2007.
It’s no secret Australia has always had a love affair with The Wombats; selling out and upgrading multiple shows across the country and delivering massively energetic festival sets at The Falls Music and Arts Festival, Groovin’ the Moo and Splendour in the Grass. Protest The Hero 2017 Tour

One of progressive metals most unique acts Protest The Hero are returning to Australian and New Zealand shores this April in support of their latest release Pacific Myth. These revolutionary metal giants will be bringing a collection of fan favourites, in addition to some new head banging hits that every hardcore fanatic will not want to miss!

Protest The Hero have carved an identity for themselves that is so revolutionary within heavy music that to call them "unique" would be like calling Louis C.K. "pretty funny" or the classic "Star Trek" television series "influential sci-fi." The band effortlessly balances high-minded artistry with wit and whimsy, substantive viewpoints with wanton tomfoolery and masterful musicianship with true songcraft.

Their latest offering Pacific Myth channels the bands usual hard-hitting sound and remains true to their signature style with overtly complex riffs and eccentric vocal arrangements. The band explained, “Pacific Myth was purely an experiment. For this reason, it’s a totally ‘go-with-your-gut’ record and one we are extremely proud of. Protest The Hero continue to push the boundaries of metal and widen their creative scope that has fans in a frenzy.

Village People 40th Anniversary Tour

The undisputed Kings of Disco - Village People - are coming to Australia in May as part of their 40th Anniversary tour.  Special guests will be none other than local pop favourites Björn Again.  In true Village People style, this one-of-a-kind group, that still comprises two of its original band members, promise to deliver a smorgasbord of smash hits and get everyone up on their feet.

Having sold more than 100 million recordings, Village People were an unstoppable force in the 70’s and 80’s.  Their characters and classic hits will forever be ingrained in the fabric of pop culture.  Originally formed in 1977 by French Music composer Jacques Morali, the Village People quickly became an instant phenomenon, with chart-topping hits such as San Francisco, Macho Man, Y.M.C.A, In the Navy, Go West, Can't Stop the Music and more.  Their impact and influence on music have earned them the title of “Kings of Disco” as well as a prestigious star on the coveted Hollywood Walk of Fame.   The group has won many international awards including the American Music Award for Favorite Musical Group in 1979, AGVA's Georgie Award, West Germany's Gold Lion Award for music excellence and Brazil's 1981 Award for Best Act.

Over the past few years, Village People have performed a full schedule of performances throughout the United States as well as Canada, Brazil, France, South Africa, England, Finland, Belgium, Spain, Italy, Romania, Japan, Mexico, Australia, Poland and much more. The Guinness World Records book certified their Sun Bowl appearance on December 31, 2008 as the world’s largest Y.M.C.A dance with over 40,000 fans doing the “YMCA moves” while the group performed.

Adding to this action packed night of disco fun and supporting Village People across all shows is the world’s number 1 ABBA experience, Björn Again - the only ABBA show endorsed by Benny Andersson and Bjorn Ulvaeus.  The group is regarded as the most successful tribute band of all time, having performed in more than 100 countries worldwide and in concert venues from Sydney Opera House to Wembley Stadium.  Björn Again will bring ABBA's timeless hits back to the stage, combined with glitzy 70’s stage costumes, Swenglish banter and hilarious stage antics to create "one of the most entertaining rock shows in the world today" (Time Out, New York).

This special 40th Anniversary tour will feature some of the Village People’s biggest hits – prepare yourself to get carried away with the most irresistible disco tunes performed in this super group’s unique way.

Trench Records Club Night: Moonbase + Tiber + Herzeloyde

Venue:Hudson Ballroom, Sydney
Date:Saturday, February 25th

If you ask anyone in his rapidly growing, hardcore fanbase, Herzeloyde is one of the most underrated producers in Australia.
That might sound like PR hyperbole, but considering the Melbourne producer’s fans consist of some of the biggest names in electronic music, including Mr Carmack, Noisia, Snakehips, and Moonbase, then that’s a fanclub whose weekly newsletter you really should subscribe to.
Herzeloyde has managed to build his career from the comfort of relative obscurity over the last few years, quietly uploading his music to Soundcloud with little pomp and circumstance. And yet, with every new release, the impact of his music has grown louder and louder – culminating today in the release of the huge single, ‘Sprung,’ and the announcement that he’ll be releasing his latest EP, 4D, on Moonbase’s Trench Records, on February 24.

The Jungle Giants at Groovin The Moo

Announced this morning to be joining the likes of The Darkness, Snakehips, Tash Sultana and Amy Shark on the bill of Australia’s favourite regional festival Groovin The Moo, Brisbane-based four-piece The Jungle Giants have revealed their highly anticipated new single ‘Feel The Way I Do’. The track is the first taste from the indie outfit since their critically acclaimed 2015 album Speakerzoid.

‘Feel The Way I Do’ is curiously abstract yet delightfully melodious. A seamless creative pairing of songwriting and production. The track was recorded at Empire Studios, the result of frontman Sam Hales' “5 days a week, 9-5” approach to the musical adventure of album number three.

Tubular Bells for Two

Two blokes juggle over 20 instruments live on stage in a spellbinding performance. A multi-award winning sell-out hit at festivals around the world, Tubular Bells for Two is now set to tour Australia.

Ask anyone who grew up through the 70s and they will be able to tell you exactly where they were when they first heard Tubular Bells. Composed by Mike Oldfield in 1973, the album was the first release on Richard Branson's fledgling record label, Virgin Records. The album went on to sell over 30 million copies - kick-starting the Virgin empire - and became the soundtrack to the cult-classic film, The Exorcist.

Now, more than 40 years on, two young Australian multi-instrumentalists, Aidan Roberts and Daniel Holdsworth, are presenting this modern masterpiece in a challenging live event.

So what's the catch? Oldfield harnessed – what was at the time – the latest in multi-track recording technology, playing a multitude of instruments one-by-one in the studio.

N’fa Jones Touring with Remi

The first taste for 2014 of N’fa Jones forthcoming album Black + White Noise is ‘Money Better Come’. The title of the track speaks for itlself. ‘Money Better Come’ is a Styalz Fuego production with Kaylen Behr featuring on the chorus giving it that good ol’ fashion Summer vibe we all need.
Summing up the way N’fa Jones often feels the life of an artist plays out, the track comes with fun and clever video clip directed by Nic McRobbie. While reflecting on the fragility of life, N’fa still manages to poke a bit of fun at himself, while singing (yep singing) melodies, telling an honest story, and of course kickin a rapped verse to keep the Hip Hop alive.
Get a taste for it while N’fa is on national tour with fellow House of Beige family member and triple j Unearthed winner Remi through February.
