2016 PETstock Calendar

Animal lovers will be able to support rescue pets from around Australia by purchasing a 2016 PETstock calendar for family and friends.

The calendar will cost just $2 and 100 per cent of proceeds will go to Australian not-for-profit organisation, PetRescue.

This year's edition stars a heart-warming line-up dogs, cats, horses, rabbits and a mouse, which have all had the chance to find loving families thanks to PetRescue.

PETstock, Australia's largest 100 per cent locally owned and operated pet specialty retailer, will sell the calendar at over 100 stores nationally and online at PETstock.com.au.

Funds raised will help PetRescue continue to provide free support to over 850 rescue organisations (predominantly community foster care groups) that save more than 7,000 pets every month. PetRescue was formed in 2004, and has since helped re-home over 306,000 animals.

PetRescue cofounder Vickie Davy said: 'The pets featured in the 2016 calendar represent a small selection of the thousands of dogs, cats, horses and even goats and guinea pigs that are adopted into loving homes each year.

'In the past year, 72,619 pets were listed on PetRescue and we currently have over 9,000 animals waiting for a forever family. We believe that pet adoption should be the first consideration for Australians looking for a new pet.

'The year-on-year increases in pet adoption that we have seen proves that Australians have a soft spot for animals that have been orphaned – they want to make a difference and provide animals-in-need with their -forever' home," she said.

The calendar has been produced in conjunction with PETstock's charity foundation, PETstock Assist and represents just one of the ways PETstock stores support the foundation and their broader partnership with PetRescue.

PETstock Chief Executive Officer, Shane Young, said: 'PETstock customers can contribute to PETstock Assist when they purchase a calendar by rounding up their purchase or donating their small change at the counter.

'The PETstock family also supports PETstock Assist to help pets in need by generously choosing to make salary sacrifice contributions as well as running in-store awareness activities."
