Defiant Screen Entertainment is thrilled to present Hollywood legend Arnold Schwarzenegger's latest movie Aftermath.

In this dramatic thriller, from the Producers of Escape Plan and Everest, two family's lives are irrevocably changed by tragedy, proving that vengeance is a journey with no return. Inspired by true events, Aftermath tells a story of guilt and revenge when an air traffic controller's error leads to a catastrophic mid-air collision that causes the death of a construction foreman's wife and daughter.

Director Elliott Lester instantly fell in love with the story. 'I fell in love with how in the story every character is a victim of their situation, whether it's the people who die in the plane crash, or it's Roman (Schwarzenegger), or it's the traffic controller Jake (Scoot McNairy). All of them become victims by this terrible set of circumstances, and it's how each character rebuilds himself, and comes to that final result of who they are."

Regarding the choice of Arnold Schwarzenegger for the role of Roman, Lester said: 'At first, you associate Arnold with a certain kind of film, because he is a man who's grossed 4 billion dollars and had a 35 year career and is the highest paid star in the world, but then I open page one (of the script), and I think this is very unusual, and by the end of page 110, you'd gone on this incredible journey with this collection of characters, and at the end of it, there was no one else I felt could play the character of Roman apart from Arnold. It was almost designed for him."

Of course he asked Schwarzenegger the question: 'Why now? Why at 68 are you deciding to do a drama? Why are you deciding to show this side of you?" His response is simple: 'I was so busy being the biggest action star in the world, and then Governor, that it just wasn't there." There's the famous quote saying there are no second acts in Americans lives. 'Well, I think this is the second act in Schwarzenegger's acting life, and I'm just grateful to be part of that journey. Of course, as a director, you want to get a great performance, but you have to have base material to do that, and Arnold shows us that he clearly has that", says Lester.
