Australian Skin Clinics' LED Light Therapy

Australian Skin Clinics' LED Light Therapy

Beauty's Most Illuminating Skin Treatment

The beauty industry has always shone a light on all skin woes and the different treatments on the market to fix, plump, rejuvenate and clear skin and especially skin repair. We've seen it all from vampire facials to stem cell injections. But there's a not-so new treatment that's helping Australians light their way to great skin in less than 20 minutes. Australian Skin Clinics have given us the low down on one of their newest, and fast becoming one of their favourite, skin treatments: LED Light Therapy.

Review: I am a regular visitor of Australian Skin Clinics and recently heard they'd introduced LED Light Therapy; the treatment interested me due to previous piercing scarring and eczema, on my face. When I walked into the Fountain Gate Australian Skin Clinic, I immediately felt welcomed and relieved; the staff are always lovely and extremely knowledgeable. Patti my beautiful therapist was informative about the treatment, thorough with her recommendations and the expected results.

Patti talked through what to expect with the treatment, which option was best for my skin goals and how she'd used the therapy, in the past; what I found very interesting was her successful use of LED Light Therapy on the scarring of a Bali Bombing survivor.

Prior to beginning the session, Patti washed my face with a cleanser from the new range of Balense Skin products. For my first treatment, we used the yellow light option and even though the session is only 13.5 minutes long, it felt as if I'd been on a tropical holiday (I also did have a nap – it's THAT relaxing). To finish the session, Patti applied an Ultraceutical serum, on my face. The treatment isn't just relaxing; it transformed my dull and tired skin leaving me with a glowing and freshened face in a quarter of the time it usually takes for a typical facial.

Although effective as a standalone treatment, I've already booked in my second LED Light Therapy appointment to follow an extraction session which allows the chance to see the difference when using the other (blue) light setting which eliminates bacteria to increase healing time. Patti finds that using the LED Light Therapy after other treatments (especially invasive treatments) rejuvenates the skin, increases recovery and reduces face redness before leaving the clinic.

I not only recommend the LED Light Therapy treatment, I highly recommend Australian Skin Clinics as the polite and educated staff always exceed my expectations.

Interview with Darlene O'Gara, Australian Skin Clinics' National Training Manager

Question: What is LED Light Therapy?

Darlene O'Gara: LED Light Therapy is a non-invasive skin treatment designed to target deep into the skin cells to amplify their natural functions, simply healing from the inside out.

Question: What are the benefits?

Darlene O'Gara: There are many benefits to LED Light Therapy, however the type of benefit depends on the colour of LED light you choose: blue or yellow.

Yellow light is an excellent treatment to increase the overall health of the skin. It targets skin rejuvenation, wound healing (think acne scarring) and decreases signs of fine lines.

Blue light works to eliminate acne-producing bacteria on the skin, improving inflammatory or hormonal acne and targets active acne.

Question: How long does it take?

Darlene O'Gara: The beauty of this treatment is that it is so time-efficient; it can be done on your lunch break. LED Light Therapy can take just 10 to 20 minutes depending on your individual treatment plan.

This treatment is based on your personal skincare goals, but several treatments spread across a select period of time delivers long lasting results. However, you do see immediate results after the very first treatment.

Question: Is there down time?

Darlene O'Gara: None at all.

If you choose to have an LED Light Therapy as a standalone treatment, there is no downtime and no redness.

Question: Where is this treatment available? LED Light Therapy is available in several skin care clinics across Australia, visit www.australianskinclinics.com.au for more information.
