Autumn Sydney Finders Keepers Market

Autumn Sydney Finders Keepers Market

The original, the biggest and the best Australian design market returns to their Sydney home this 29th / 30th April and 1st May. The Finders Keepers markets have done it again for their Autumn / Winter event, presenting another amazing line-up at Eveleigh's historical Australian Technology Park.

Always featuring the brightest local and national designers and their unique fare, visitors can expect to find innovative fashion, hand-crafted ceramics, letterpress stationery, bespoke leather goods, hand-poured candles, succulent terrariums and so much more. Opening Friday night from 6pm to 10pm, Saturday from 10am to 6pm and Sunday from 10am to 5pm, entry is just $2 for adults, and free for children under the age of 12.

For visitors, the most engaging part of buying directly from the designer is absorbing their sense of creative passion through the stories they tell. Shane Thompson, creator of Afternoons With Albert, with a range of handmade leather organisers, is participating in the upcoming Sydney market as a debut stallholder. 'Having the chance to step out from behind the label and show people there is a real, authentic and passionate human being behind what they are buying is what I'm looking forward to the most", says Thompson. 'The Finders Keepers also provides me the opportunity to be at the centre of a massive amount of amazingly creative people."

Bek Hendry, co-founder of of Leafsmith & Kin, a debut stallholder in the recent Sydney SS15 market originally applied for a stall not really believing they'd be accepted into what they've come to know as the leading maker market in Sydney.

'It was our first choice and subsequent delight! We had such an amazing time and got such great feedback, we knew we had to apply again!" Shoppers can expect to see more stunning ceramic planters from this duo at the AW16 event. Whilst curators are certain to reflect fresh items found in the community by ensuring approximately 30% of stallholders are brand new, visitors can also expect to find their much-loved favourites. Designers and artists are continuously developing themselves and their work, with that organic growth nurtured both by shoppers, and the community itself.

Better known for her brightly-coloured homewares label Beneath The Sun, artist Leah Bartholomew is participating in the event to exhibit work created from a recently-renewed fine art practice. 'I feel like my affinity with the ocean and lush plant life seen throughout my artworks, would also appeal to Sydneysiders." When discussing her reasons behind returning to the markets with a new range, Bartholomew puts it simply as to why she chooses the Finders Keepers.

'Hands down my favourite thing about the market is meeting everyone who supports my brand, and interacting with fellow designers. It is such a highly professional set-up where we get to showcase our work in beautiful buildings and be surrounded by top quality work. Not only that, it's a very special and unique event for customers."
