Sydney Airport Tax & Duty Free reveals Australia's most exclusive bottle of gin

US $200,000 bottle of Bombay Sapphire Revelation to be housed in-store and sold for charity

Five limited edition Revelation bottles will be unveiled at five major international airports today. The Sydney Airport Tax and Duty Free store at Sydney Airport has been picked in the company of London, New York, Dubai and Singapore to play host.

Baccarat, Garrard and Karim Rashid, three leading names in luxury design have joined to create Bombay Sapphire Revelation: five handmade crystal bottles individually decorated with diamonds and sapphires. One Revelation bottle will be exhibited at each of the five international airports for two to three months before being securely transported to its new owner, anywhere in the world.

David Odgers, spokesman for The Nuance Group who operate SYD Airport Tax and Duty Free said, "We're thrilled to be the only place in Australia to house Bombay Sapphire Revelation, which marries premium alcohol with high-end design and the world's most luxurious crystal."

"Our customers love to use their duty free savings to trial and stock up on premium alcohol both on departure from and arrival into Australia. Aside from the traditional gift giving celebrations such as Chinese New Year and Christmas, many travellers consider duty free shopping the perfect opportunity to invest or indulge in a special liquor, wine or champagne purchase."

Consumers typically save 40% or more buying duty free as there is no excise duty or GST charged. Generally, the duty free liquor bottle is 40% larger than domestic retail, offering further value.
