Brunswick Music Festival

Brunswick Music Festival

Moreland City Council's Brunswick Music Festival returns in March, with Melbourne's iconic fortnight-long party program celebrating 30 years of fostering live music and local talent. Punching out a pitch perfect program, Brunswick Music Festival once again cements its reputation as one of Melbourne's biggest annual music events as it takes up residency in every inch of Brunswick for two special weeks from March 4-18, 2018.

The free and ticketed program will take place at coveted venues including Howler, Brunswick Mechanics Institute,  Rubix Warehouse and The Spotted Mallard as well as in Brunswick's familiar and favourite streets and parks.

Since being formally recognised as the Australian suburb that houses the most songwriters, it only seems fitting that Brunswick's music festival features the full breadth of musical talent the postcode and surrounds have to offer. The local program brings quality picks to the festival stages including, amongst others, All Our Exes Live in TexasBenny Walker, and a lovingly selected line up of bands from local underground indie label Psychic Hysteria.

The international contingent will be roaring hot this year and borrowing headlining sets from some of the world's most majestic and sought after acts including Masta Ace (USA), Daymé Arocena (Cuba), Hypnotic Brass Ensemble (USA), My Bubba (Sweden/Iceland),  Jojo Abot (Ghana) and many more.

Sydney Road Street Party on Sunday 4 March will once more bring one of Melbourne's most highly trafficked arterials to a standstill, to make way for a heaving extravaganza of sounds, smells and sights. The first ever High Tide Pool Party featuring a day of music, family friendly fun and more than a couple of banana lounges will take place at Brunswick Baths and Music for the People's usual eclectic collection of live bands and good vibes will round out the program in the lush surrounds of Shore Reserve on Sunday 18 March.

Many of this year's live music performances will go down at Brunswick Music Festival's brand new festival hub.

Opposite Brunswick Town Hall, The Brunswick Mechanics Institute will host a number of performances and house the festival's new professional development series that will connect the thriving community of artists and musicians and those wanting to develop their careers.

Stay tuned in February 2018 for more additions to Brunswick Music Festival's already stunning program, including multi-artist special events, intimate international performances, and full line-up details of the professional development series, Sydney Road Street Party, High Tide Pool Party and Music For The People.
