Sydney-based multi-instrumentalist Daniel Ahern a.k.a. Bus Vipers has released his new single -Fluid', the second cut from his forthcoming debut EP Federal Highway, out September 8, 2017 via Future Classic. As premiered on The Line Of Best Fit and FBi Radio, -Fluid' follows his first single -CSIRO Weeds' and is available on all digital platforms from today.

Featuring one of the most undeniably upbeat, driving pop choruses of the year, -Fluid', like -CSIRO Weeds', is a rapturous and sunny song evoking musical memory a la Hot Chip and Connan Mockasin. Its wavy vocals paint an eerie picture of deep sea creatures between layers on layers of clever drum parts and distorted guitar work. Like all the songs on the Federal Highway EP, every instrument on -Fluid' was written and performed by Ahern and recorded in his home studio.
 
Bus Vipers is getting ready to play some of his first live shows in Sydney, including Red Bull Sound Select as curated by Laneway Festival at The Lansdowne on Friday 28 July, and Volumes Festival 2017 on August 19.
 
Last month Bus Vipers released -CSIRO Weeds', the first single from the Federal Highway EP, together with a colourfully playful video by one of Sydney's most creative resident pairings, Prue Stent and Honey Long. After being premiered on Stereogum, -CSIRO Weeds' was awarded -Single of the Day' on The AU Review, and added to rotation on rage with The Music poignantly writing, 'they say it's from the garage, I say more bedroom synth with an interesting view out the window." It peaked at #13 on the Spotify Viral Charts and landed at #6 on the AMRAP Metro Chart after being added to B Rotation on FBi, -Best New Music' on 4ZZZ, SYN FM and 2SER, with spins on Double J and triple j's Home & Hosed.
