As Australians struggle against the battle of the bulge, health conscious consumers are increasingly searching for alternatives to fatty cooking oils. Carotino is already a favourite in homes across Europe, Africa and South East Asia due to its unique health benefits.

Carotino is an Australian first - a premium cooking oil that is cholesterol free and has a tick of approval from the Heart Foundation.

Carotino is a vitamin rich blend of natural red palm fruit oil and canola oil. Packed with natural antioxidants such as vitamin A, vitamin E, Lycopene and Omega 3, which are all essential for generating and maintaining good health, Carotino also contains super-ingredient Co-enzyme Q10 for inner health and beauty.

Grown in environmentally sustainable palm plantations in Malaysia, Carotino extracts the pulp of Red Palm Fruit to create a non hydrogenated oil, which enriches and brings out the natural flavour of ingredients without artificial additives or preservatives.

Carotino's beautiful rich golden colour comes from all-natural Alpha and Beta carotenes, which give carrots and tomatoes their vibrant colour. The neutral taste of Carotino will not overpower even the most delicate of dishes and can withstand high temperatures without burning, ensuring that it can be used in place of other cooking oils in virtually all recipes.

As Ed Halmagyi, Better Homes and Gardens' celebrity-chef and vocal Carotino advocate states, 'With Carotino you can give your meal a golden colour that professional chefs spend years trying to achieve. Plus, it's got the Heart Foundation tick of approval, so you know its good for you.'

By making the simple switch to Carotino in place of traditional vegetable or olive oil, clever cooks are injecting antioxidants, nutrients and vitamins into their creations on a daily basis.

Carotino is priced at $7.99 (R.R.P.) and is available in supermarkets nationally.

Carotino - Frequently Asked Questions

1. What makes Carotino different from other palm oils on the market?
Carotino is made from the pulp of red palm fruit. This is not to be confused with Palm Kernel Oil which comes from the seed of the palm fruit.

Palm fruit is much lower in saturated fat than palm kernel oil and also contains antioxidants and other health benefits that the oil derived from the kernel does not have.

2. Why is Carotino great for cooking?
The neutral taste of Carotino will not overpower even the most delicate of dishes and can withstand high temperatures of up to 250 degrees Celsius without burning, making it a versatile cooking oil which is a great alternative to other oils that lose their nutritional value at a much lower temperature.

3. What are the health benefits of Carotino?
Carotino is packed with natural antioxidants vitamin A, vitamin E, Lycopene and Omega 3, which are all essential for generating and maintaining good health as well as super-ingredient Co-enzyme Q10 for inner health and beauty.

4. What does the Heart Foundation Tick mean?
The tick by the Heart Foundation represents approval that Carotino has met the criteria used by the Heart Foundation to create their guide to healthy eating. This means that Carotino is low in saturated fat and trans fats.

5. Isn't Palm oil high in saturated fat?
Pure palm kernel oil is 80-85% saturated fat. Carotino comes from the pulp of the palm fruit, not the kernel which is much lower in saturated fat. Carotino is also a blend of 20% red palm fruit oil and 80% Canola oil - which is very low in saturated fat. This makes the overall saturated fat content of Carotino within the Heart Foundation's recommend guide for healthy eating.

6. Isn't palm oil production responsible for deforestation of rainforests and habitat destruction in Indonesia?
Carotino is grown in environmentally sustainable palm plantations in Malaysia.
Whilst the production of some other palm oils does directly contribute to deforestation and habitat destruction in Indonesia, no Carotino is produced from plantations in Indonesia.
