Celebrating Australia Day on the Gold Coast

What better way to celebrate the Aussie green and gold than on the Gold Coast!

Australia Day on the Gold Coast often boasts some of the most iconic Aussie celebrations, think barbies on the beach, riding the waves on golden beaches, picnics in parks and a whole bunch of Aussie pride.

Running from 4:00pm to 8:00pm on Australia Day, the afternoon of entertainment features live music performances from The Twine, Sunset City and Cheap Fakes, and the JJ Richards Adventure Zone to keep the kids busy. Enjoy the sunset and stay late for a fireworks display, with a special display of jet skiing, fly boards and jet packs. There will also be a range of food trucks serving up delicious food and drinks to keep that hunger at bay or why not bring a picnic to share and make it a summer evening the whole family will enjoy. With direct access straight from Brisbane Airport to the new tram connection at Helensvale, you can take a scenic walk from Broadwater Parklands tram station through the parklands to reach the center of activity and enjoy the evening. http://www.goldcoast.qld.gov.au/australia-day-celebrations-43306.html
