Charli Delaney for Girls Night In

Girls Night In is a month long fundraising initiative which takes place each October and raises important funding for women's cancer research and support services. Each year in Australia more than 45,000 women are diagnosed with cancer - with more than 16,000 of these women diagnosed with breast or a gynaecological cancer.

This year the Girls Night In celebrity ambassadors include Miss University Australia 2010 Jesinta Campbell, comedian Fiona O'Loughlin, award-winning hairdresser to the stars Brad Ngata and Charli Delaney, former Hi-5'er and host of Austereo's National Top 30 Countdown.

It's a great thing for people to get involved with, and many of our hosts do an event each year!

Women can still register to hold a Girls Night In event - it's fun at easy! Just get together with your friends and the money you'd usually spend on a big night out, donate to the Cancer Council so we can work to reduce the statistics that one in three Australian women will get cancer.

Interview with Charli Delaney

Question: Why did you decide to become an ambassador for Girls Night In?

Charli Delaney: I'm passionate about all things health and well-being, particularly for women. Girls Night In celebrates women, in bringing us together as well as highlighting the need to look after ourselves and be aware of the need for research and support for all women touched with cancer.

Question: Can you explain what Girls Night In is?

Charli Delaney: It's a great excuse for us girls to come together, have fun, and whatever you would have spent on a night out (food/wine/ movies etc) and donate that to the cancer council, for research and support of women's cancer.

Question: What do you hope to achieve in your role as a 2010 ambassador for Girls Night In?

Charli Delaney: If I can make even one group of girls get together, chat about their bodies or health, have fun, feel supported, and celebrate our inner goddess! That in itself is a positive step. As well, to raise funds for cancer research is a must. Let's find a cure already!

Question: What Girls Night In events have you organised or attended in the past?

Charli Delaney: I'll be hosting a girl's night in on my radio show, hot30 countdown.

Question: What suggestions do you have for female's organsing Girls Night In events at home?

Charli Delaney: Have fun! Pamper you selves! Indulge! And feel the love from your gorgeous friends... that's so important for us girls.
