Ten Canoes Premiere Tickets

Thanks to Palace Films, Femail.com.au are giving away 50 double passes to advance screenings of TEN CANOES, one of the most ground-breaking Australian films ever made. Passes would be valid on Friday June 23, Saturday June 24 & Sunday June 25.

Releasing nationally on June 29 through Palace Films, TEN CANOES is the latest movie from acclaimed director Rolf De Heer (Bad Boy Bubby, The Tracker, Alexandras Project), made with co-director Peter Djigirr and the people of Ramingining.

A tragicomedy set in tribal times, TEN CANOES tells the story of Dayindi (played by Jamie Gulpilil, son of the great David Gulpilil) who covets one of his older brothers wives. To teach him the proper way, he is told a tale from the mythical past, a tale of wrong love, kidnapping, sorcery, bungling mayhem and revenge gone wrong. In English storytelling (by David Gulpilil) and sub-titled Ganalbingu language, this is a film unlike any that has ever been seen!

TEN CANOES has been receiving advance rave reviews and will open the 2006 Sydney Film Festival and has also been selected for the prestigious Un Certain Regard section of the 2006 Cannes International Film Festival. Here are some review quotes for your interest:
