The new and most bingeable TV series South Of Hell takes place in Charleston, the most possessed city in the world. Evil thrives here. Something with which 30-year old exorcist Maria (Mena Suvari) is intimately acquainted. She wrestles demons for a living. Especially Abigail, the one that lives within her. The one who feeds on damned souls and who's violated the laws of Hell to live on Earth and live on, inside Maria.

The idea for the series came from writer Matthew Lambert who says seeing his script come to life is like -winning the lottery.' He says, 'I am very attracted to the supernatural and horror genre." Throw in the masters of horror Jason Blum and Eli Roth and this is the dream team to tell this story. 'You have James Manos (exec prod) who did the Sopranos and Dexter to bring the sexy edge, Eli Roth of horror classics such as Hostel …and Blumhouse Productions who can bring this story to a very diverse audience" says Jason Blum.

Filled with suspense, action, drama, as well as dark humour, South Of Hell has found its way to what may appear to be an unlikely audience – women. 'Why wouldn't women be attracted to this story?" says Jennifer Lynch who directs two episodes. 'It's sexy, it explores faith and spirituality – good and evil, and it tells a really fun and interesting story!"

'This story couldn't come to life without what Mena Suvari has been able to do so adeptly", says Manos. 'Embodying both Maria and Abigail is quite the feat, but Mena has been more than capable of taking on this tremendous task" adds Jennifer Lynch, 'There is dark and light within us all."

Mena Suvari (known for her roles in TVs Chicago Fire, American Pie and American Beauty) actually spent some time in her youth living in the city of Charleston. She says it 'was the perfect place to film South Of Hell. What better place than the Holy City to film this". The city is scattered with historic monuments, churches and…cemeteries. 'You'll be shopping on a cute little street, and you make a turn and you're in a really old cemetery!" exclaims Mena Suvari.
