This dilemma creates an unsolvable problem for the ambitious young woman and despite her marriage to another man, their bonds are never truly broken...

Their forbidden and ultimately tragic love underpins a tempestuous romance which is played out against the backdrop of wild, northern England countryside. With edgy undercurrents of sex, passion and hatred, this is an adventurous, bold and powerful version of a timeless epic.
