Don Quixote

This is the ultimate edition of one of the world's best-loved books.

The famous tale of Don Quixote, an elderly Spanish gentleman, who reads one too many chivalric romances, and decides to become a knight-errant, accompanied by his faithful "squire" Sancho Panza. He sets off on his travels through sixteenth-century spain for adventures, which are both comic and romantic.

First published in two parts in 1605 and 1615, Don Quixote is one the funniest and most touching novels ever written. It tells the story of a Spanish gentleman whose dreams of chivalric knight errantry take him on a series of adventures, accompanied by his faithful squire Sancho Panza. This new edition, superbly retold by Martin Jenkins, is illustrated by Chris Riddell who brings the world of sixteenth-century Spain gloriously to life.

Chris Riddells Don Quixote may well rank alongside the work of Doré, Dali and Picasso -- and other great artists whove been inspired by the book. Martin Jenkins superb abridgement remains faithful to everything in Cervantes original novel.
