Eve Ash is a psychologist, film producer and well known public speaker and presenter. She is the founder of Seven Dimensions (www.7dimensions.com.au) and co-founder of Ash.Quarry Productions. Eve has produced over 500 training films and videos and built a successful global business in over 40 countries. Eve has won more than 130 prestigious international awards and was the 1999 National Winner of the Westpac Business Owner Award at the Telstra Business Women's Awards. Eve was also honoured in the Australian Businesswomen's hall of Fame in 2000. Eve is the honorary patron of Reproductive Health charity, Marie Stopes International Australia (MSIA).


Eve is the co-author of a book, Scripts for Success, to be published by Penguin in 2002. She is also the co-founder of 1000 Answers, a company now co-owned by Ericsson Australia, offering video answer learning technology online. She is currently developing feature films and TV series, and has just completed 36 new training video titles.

Where did you grow up?
Melbourne (Murrumbeena)

What was your first job?
First Uni Job was on a production line, the line was too fast so I had the management slow it down.

First real job was as a Graduate Clerk with the Commonwealth Public Service.

What did you want to be when you were growing up?
Either a Vet or an Architect

How did you get to where you are now?
I kept finding ladders, lifts and elevators and just kept climbing

How many hours a week do you work?
60-80 hours a week, a lot of my work is fun, work should be fun. Life events make for great research.

Where would you like to be in 10 years?
Having adventures across exotic lands, whilst my films and TV Shows and books bring me a happy income.

What advice would you give somebody embarking on their first business or aspiring to achieve extraordinary career goals?
Don't worry about what other people are doing; worry about what you are doing. Tell people your ideas, plan definite and achievable steps and look for ladders and windows.

What do you class as your biggest career achievement?
Building a library of videos that sell in over 40 countries.

What is the best piece of advice anybody has given to you?
Don't worry about what other people think, listen to your heart.

Who living or dead would you most like to invite to dinner?
John Cleese

Name a movie that actually inspired you:
Meetings Bloody Meetings (training film by John Cleese)

Sex Lies and Videotape, when I saw this film I thought, yes I can make a movie too!

Your favourite toy as a child?
A furry Koala. I once stuck a black piece of cardboard in the shape of a heart over the lens of my camera to take a photo of my koala, this produced a shot of my koala in a heart.

What are you reading at the moment?

Which song transports you to another place when you hear it and why?
Eric Clapton Layla. It makes me feel great!

What are you passionate about?
I'm passionate about the charity that I am a patron of, Marie Stopes International Australia (MSIA). They work so hard to enable women and their families throughout the world to utilise modern family planning techniques and provide important education and information to those who need it. MSIA empower women to make informed decisions about their reproductive health choices.

Your favourite place in the world, and why?
My Bed, because so much great stuff happens there. My bed aside, Paris, New York and any black run ski slope with fresh snow anywhere in the world will do.

What is your idea of the perfect Sunday?
2 hours is too personal to tell you about. The rest of the day consists of brunch with 1 or more people that I'm close too and then some fun times with my kids for the rest of the day.

What makes you angry?
Women being denied basic family planning methods in counties where they are needed most. This is something that MSIA are helping with; they provide women with the services and information that they need.
