Free Christmas School Holiday Program at M.A.D.E

Where better to spend the summer school holidays than at The Museum of Australian Democracy at Eureka (M.A.D.E) in Ballarat, enjoying the museum's FREE school holiday program, M.A.D.E FOR FUN.

The summer M.A.D.E FOR FUN program will run from Monday, January 13th until Friday, January 24th, 2014 and will include three activities: -Kite, Flag and Pinwheel Craft,' -Seeking out Stars' and an interactive -Cyber-Story Time'.

This summer at M.A.D.E we're all about putting the stars back in the sky. On kites, flags and pinwheels, shimmering constellations will fill the air – all cleverly constructed by our school holiday visitors.

Family passes to M.A.D.E itself are only $35 (Ballarat locals are free) and Ballarat is a short and exciting train ride for children from Melbourne.

Kite, flag and pinwheel craft
Using materials provided in M.A.D.E's craft room, children can enjoy building their own wind-fuelled wonders before attempting a launch in the beautiful memorial parkland outside. They can add their creations to the growing whirly-gig garden or take them home.

Seeking Out Stars
A fun way to explore M.A.D.E's interactive exhibition, children can track down all the stars displayed on our physical and digital objects, then record their findings on a specially designed Discovery Worksheet.

Cyber-storytime
Each day at 11:00am and 2:00pm, picture story book illustrations come alive at M.A.D.E on a giant touchscreen. Youngsters can sit back and listen or even join in with telling the tale.

M.A.D.E facilities include an on-site café, a playground and parklands. School holiday visitors can add their name to M.A.D.E's gift shop prize draw. Drawn at the end of the holidays, the winner collects a hamper filled with a selection of games, books and toys.
