Healthy Living

Eating patterns are the result of a lifetime of experiences and embarking on a new way of eating takes planning. We learn to eat as a response to emotions and situations. We learn that desserts are rewards and veggies are punishment. If you don't believe me, think about how you approach these two foods with your kids? Or, when you were growing up

The first step to successful dieting (or changing eating habits) is to wipe everything from the memory bank at start over. We have to 're-learn' new, more empowering behaviours to food and exercise. We have to change our shopping habits, socialising habits and the hardest of all, change the way we look at ourselves in terms of loving and not loathing our bodies.

Loving your body, whatever shape it is, will give you the ability to treat it with the respect it needs in order to achieve the shape and fitness you want.

Loathing your body will only make you resent it even more, hence not giving it the proper attention and love that it needs in order for you to reach your desired body shape and fitness level.

How many times have you dieted and broken it and then wondered why? Kicking yourself is not the answer as guilt often leads to bingeing. When we 'break' our diet plan, it doesn't just come down to lack of willpower or motivation, most of the time it's mistakes made in your approach to eating and the food you chose.
