Movie Night at the G

Movie Night at the G

Sports fans and film buffs rejoice - Cinema at the 'G, presented by Bank of Melbourne is back in 2018, with the iconic MCG once again transforming into the city's most spectacular open air cinema.

Now in its third year, as the sun goes down on Friday 23 and Saturday 24 February attendees will be able to sit back and relax on the hallowed MCG turf as a movie lights up the giant scoreboard screen.

Opening night will feature the recently released Wonder, starring Julia Roberts, while the sporting cult classic Remember the Titans will screen on Saturday night.

Attendees can bring blankets, pillows and snacks to create a picnic on the famous patch of grass, or enjoy a range of cinema fare from the MCG onsite caterers.

Proceeds from the event will go to the Bank of Melbourne Neighbourhood Fund, which supports local charities and programs that deliver sustainable benefits to Victorian communities in need.

"There's nothing more Melbourne than heading to the 'G with a group of friends and family, and we're thrilled to be able to once again transform the stadium for a very different summer spectator experience," said Melbourne Cricket Club CEO, Stuart Fox.

"To be able to lie back on the MCG turf and enjoy a film is a rare opportunity and with last year's event a quick sellout, we encourage everyone to book early to secure their spot at Cinema at the 'G this February."

Bank of Melbourne Chief Executive Michelle Winzer said, "We're so excited to once again give Victorians the chance to experience their favourite sporting arena in a different way. Cinema at the 'G celebrates Bank of Melbourne's partnership with the MCG, while raising much-needed funds that will go to local community groups through our charitable foundation, the Bank of Melbourne Neighbourhood Fund."

Each session is capped at 2000 attendees, with a limited number of VIP tickets available for each night.
