Pearly Whites
8 EASY TIPS ON HOW TO ACHIEVE & MAINTAIN THOSE PEARLY WHITES!

Do you get embarrassed when you smile in public for fear that people will notice the coffee stains on your teeth? Do your teeth feel like furry little caterpillars? Do you think that Nicole Kidman is the only gal destined to have pearly whites? Well think again!

Here are a few quick and easy tips you can try to achieve and maintain that glowing, healthy and fresh smile!

1. Use a soft-bristled brush - Do your gums bleed and become irritated after each time you brush your teeth? Perhaps your toothbrush is too harsh. It is recommended that you use a toothbrush with soft-bristles as harsher brushes can wear down the enamel on your teeth and may expose the discoloured dentine layer underneath.

2. Try a multi-angled brush - For a better and thorough clean, try using a multi-angled brush. These beauties are great for getting in those hard to reach places and are excellent for removing plaque because of their flexibility.

3. Floss regularly - Flossing regularly will shift plaque caught in between the teeth and prevents stains from appearing at the edges.

4. Use whitening toothpaste - With so many brands on the market these days, consumers are able to make an informed choice. Whitening toothpastes make teeth appear brighter by removing surface stains that build up daily. Teeth may lighten a few shades if the stains are only minor, but if the stains are deeper and more obvious, then professional whitening by your dentist is advised.

5. Decrease your intake of high-pigment foods - Foods such as berrries, red wine, coffee and tea all contain high-pigments. So to minimise colourisation, you should cut down on these foods. But if the temptation is all too much and you have to submit to your desires, ensure that you rinse your mouth out with water directly afterwards or eat an apple.

6. Chew sugar-less gum - Chewing sugar-less gum in between meals will help to produce saliva which helps keep teeth naturally clean.

7. Quit Smoking - Not only does smoking cause serious health problems but it also taints the enamel on your teeth. Just one more reason to quit smoking!

8. Visit the dentist regularly - It is advised that you visit the dentist for a clean and polish of your teeth twice a year.
