Dr Sandra Cabot has had a varied and exciting career. She has worked as a medical doctor and researcher and as a missionary doctor in India caring for the poor indigenous women in Northern India. Dr Cabot has raised charity funds for women's refuges and remains a protagonist of women's rights and a pioneer in women's health. She is currently the Director of the National Health Advisory Service and makes regular television, radio and seminar appearances discussing health issues both in Australia and abroad. Dr Cabot's obvious passion for health and the well being of others has led her to write over 10 popular health books including the best-selling "The Liver Cleansing Diet". Not one to rest on her laurels, Dr Cabot is also a trained Pilot and Aircraft owner and operator.

A Veterinarian and a Musician

How did you get to where you are now?
Passion, creativity, sacrifice, long hours of work and study, surrender to my patients needs, compassion and sensitivity to others, a belief in myself, persistence (I never give up), good luck, a good supportive family. I have a competitive spirit and enjoy a good fiery debate.

Varies a lot from 50 to 70 hours

Where would you like to be in ten years?

- Healthy and financially independent.
- Mentally sharp and switched on
- Surrounded by lots of good friends

What advice would you give to somebody embarking on their first business or aspiring to achieve extraordinary career goals?

- You need to be ambitious and must be prepared to ride the ups and downs.
- You must be patient and persistent.
- You need to be able to handle some risk without worrying.
- You need to be a good marketer and promoter and if you are not, hire a good one.
- Always treat your staff well to earn their respect.

What do you class as your biggest career achievement?

Writing the best selling book titled "The Liver Cleansing Diet" and my latest book called "Can't Lose Weight? You could have Syndrome X - the chemical imbalance that makes you store fat"

What is the best piece of advice anybody has given you?
Within you lies the greatest power and love in the universe.

"Don't Think Twice, It's Alright" by Bob Dylan. It's so cool, it says "when it's over it's over, and let's not agonise or explain, but happily move on." You see, time is in short supply, and there is sooo much to do and so many new people to meet!!

The USA - it's so exciting - everything is big and happening

Blue skies, gentle winds, and a good aircraft
