The Wiggles - Carnival of the Animals

The Wiggles proudly release an exciting and educational album that will encourage children's appreciation of music and features one of their favourite entertainers.

Written and narrated by Red Wiggle, Simon Pryce, Carnival of the Animals is a story with beautiful music provided by the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra. Children will love listening in and travelling to the Carnival of the Animals.

The Carnival of the Animals is an orchestral piece written in 1886 by the composer Camille Saint-Seans. It was written for children as a bit of fun and is very different to his other works. It is a musical suite of 14 movements and each movement represents a different animal and the sounds of the animal.

But of course, this clever version of Carnival of the Animals has been Wiggle-fied!

The album is introduced by The Wiggles and Simon delivers his story in his beautiful and instantly recognisable bass voice that both children and parents will love. The Carnival of the Animals was written to encourage children's appreciation of music. Simon's ideas contribute to that tradition.

Simon explains, 'I have always loved the music of 'Carnival of the Animals". I heard it for the first time as a child and the music has stayed with me my entire life. It really is music that inspires and evokes the imagination for both children and adults alike.

'Many of the narrations I have heard over the years are quite grown up and aren't necessarily written for a pre-school audience. With this recording, my aim was to tell the story in a way the children would best like to hear it and, ultimately, to introduce orchestral music to children with the hope that they form a love and an appreciation for it that will stay with them for the rest of their lives".

Perfect for story time at home, at preschool and big school, or as you travel, The Wiggles Carnival of the Animals is a delight set for a whole new generation of children to enjoy.
