Single parent Daniel Stevens' (James Thornton) home is under attack and he calls in Vincent (Ray Winstone).

When Beth (Suranne Jones) volunteers to pose as a live-in nanny for little Chloe (Libby Broughton), Vincent finds himself witnessing a growing attraction between Beth and their client. Is he jealous, or just lonely?

While Beth is enjoying life with her ready-made family, the threats against Daniel and the people he works with continue. Vincent realises that the person they are looking for must have known Daniel for a long time. Someone is refusing to forgive and forget the way they were treated at school.

Robert (Joe Absolom) is shocked to find Daniel's mate and leading suspect dead, bludgeoned to death by a golf club. Beth and Chloe are kidnapped by the killer and Vincent unwittingly enters a race against time towards a violent endgame.
