Vivid Sydney 2018 at Harbourside

Vivid Sydney 2018 at Harbourside

$30 special Vivid menus, light installation, fireworks and freebies!

Vivid Sydney 2018 starts on Friday, 25 May and runs until Saturday, 16 June, and Harbourside is right in the centre of the action, immersing itself in the festival with a range of activities taking place.

To help festival goers warm up and refuel, Harbourside has $30 special Vivid menus available for lunch or dinner at several of its restaurants, including Dragon Boat, The Port, Kazbah Darling Harbour, Hurricane's Grill Darling Harbour, Cyren Bar Grill Seafood, Zaaffran and Rashay's. From wood fired ribs to authentic Indian Cuisine, there are plenty of options to choose from for the whole family.

Every Friday and Saturday night throughout Vivid Sydney at 8:00pm, Cockle Bay will be lit up with eight minutes of sparkling fireworks. You can also watch the fantastic oceans light show on Cockle Bay every evening from 6:00pm, with shows playing every 15 minutes until 11:00pm. Keep an eye out for friendly hosts who will be roaming the centre and promenade, giving away glow necklaces each evening between 6:00pm and 10:00pm on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday during the festival. They will also assist visitors with suggestions on where best to view the fireworks or light show, and where to grab a bite to eat or drink.

Harbourside will also feature its very own light installation under the Dome, an elegant seven-metre mirror chandelier, with 200 spiral hung mirrors, that will reflect and refract colour into the surrounding space. During the day sunlight will bounce off the mirrors, reflecting natural light throughout the area, and at night, lights will be shone onto the chandelier to create a beautiful reflective installation especially for Vivid.

Vivid Sydney is a festival of light, music and ideas, which transforms Sydney into a wonderland of 'light art' sculptures, innovative installations and grand-scale projections for all to enjoy for free. A cutting-edge contemporary music lineup of local and international acts are scheduled to perform around the city, as well as a program of speakers and leaders in the areas of innovation, creativity and community.
