Wok on Inn

With flaming woks, fragrant aromas and funky artwork, street noodle bar Wok on Inn takes diners on a vibrant flavour safari, transporting them straight to the bustling streets of Bangkok. And now, Zetland locals can experience true hawker-style street food when Wok on Inn opens its sixth restaurant with a Free Noodle Day at the dynamic East Village.

From Bangkok and Shanghai to Kuala Lumpur and Jakarta, the chefs behind the woks deliver authentic homemade recipes from their childhood mixed with Asian street culture to the lively group of Sydney-based street noodle bars. Celebrating the opening on Tuesday 11th August with free Pad Thai, Singapore Noodles or Drunken Noodles from 11:30am to 9:00pm, Wok on Inn will recreate the streets of Asia, allowing diners to immerse themselves in the distinct taste of exotic flavours.

Using ingredients of the highest quality and imitating the renowned ready-to-eat element of street food, Wok on Inn creates delicious and fresh dishes with bold flavours that really hit the taste buds. Believing in the Taoist principles of yin and yang, the street noodle bar bases its menu on the idea that opposite ingredients set in balance ensures harmony at the table and in the body.

Ankur Sehgal, Wok on Inn Managing Director, says, 'We pride ourselves on the authenticity of our food, bringing everything back-to-basics and drawing inspiration from how our grandmas made traditional dishes in the 60s and 70s. Our dishes are bursting with flavour; using a blend of sauces and pastes, herbs and spices, combined with the freshest produce to bring out a diverse taste of exotic culture, and Wok on Inn is excited to bring this Asian street vibe to Zetland."

Helping those in need, Wok on Inn supports Hands Across the Water, a charity in Thailand which provides food, shelter, education, accommodation and opportunities for several hundred Thai children. For every dollar donated by diners on Free Noodle Day, Wok on Inn will match the money raised to give the communities a helping hand.

The new Zetland restaurant will be the first Wok on Inn to offer a home delivery service, bringing an authentic taste of Asia straight to people's front doors. With its edgy urban atmosphere, coupled with a selection of Asian beers, Wok on Inn will be serving up a true street style experience. Opening on Tuesday 11th August, Wok on Inn noodle bar is located at 2 Defries Avenue, Zetland and will be open for lunch and dinner (licensed and BYO wine only) from Monday to Wednesday 11:30am – 9:00pm, Thursday to Saturday 11:30am – 10:00pm and Sunday 11:30am – 9:30pm.
