Women's Health Week 4-8 September: It's time to sign up for your good health

Women's Health Week is an annual national campaign dedicated to women across Australia to make good health a priority.

Women are good at putting the health of others ahead of their own. We also know that lack of time is one of the biggest barriers to women making positive health changes. Our message this year is the health of those we love starts with us. By investing more time in ourselves, we are better able to look after the ones we love and care about.

Organisers of Women's Health Week, leading not-for-profit women's health organisation Jean Hailes for Women's Health, is calling on women to sign up and join the online event during week of 4-8 September.

'We are asking women to sign up now to ensure they are part of the week and join in the conversation around women's health," says Jean Hailes Executive Director Janet Michelmore AO.

The Women's Health Week online event is free and includes daily podcasts, videos and articles with practical tips to help you start making positive changes that can last a lifetime.

'We are also encouraging community groups, workplaces and women to hold their own events such as a morning tea or group physical activity like walking and take the opportunity to talk about their health. It's a lovely reason to get together to talk openly about all things health and wellbeing from anxiety to diet as well as those more difficult topics that can affect women but are often hard to address," says Ms Michelmore.

'At Jean Hailes our goal is to continue increasing awareness of the importance of maintaining good health and preventing future health problems for all women."

Sign up now at www.womenshealthweek.com.au and go into the draw for a chance to win a Gold Series Fitbit Blaze valued at $369.95.
