Mya Rose Band has produced their latest CD Breaking Free, her music can be described as Vibrant Folk Rock that everyone around will love.
The Mya Rose band consists of Mya Rose, who is the vocalist and Acoustic Guitarist. Mya is a young singer-songwriter, from America with a sort of folk, funky rock feel.
Mya began singing around the same time she learned to talk! School plays, karaoke, poetry readings, and impromptu performances during her childhood set the stage for her lifes goals. She studied and performed classical music in Germany at the age of 11, and by 16 she was playing her original material in Korea. After relocating to Fayetteville, NC, she was in a locally famous rock-folk-funk-band: Slappin Patties. They toured for four years, appeared twice on NBC 17, won several Battle of the Band contests and in 2001 recorded the CD entitled Take me Home. Pursuing her education and career in music Mya Roses Band wrote, recorded and produced her first solo album Breaking Free. Mya Roses influences are Joni Mitchell, Ani Difranco, Stelly Dan, Janis Joplin, James Brown, variety of rock, jazz, funk, classical and folk.
Steve Magliano is on the Harmonica and Sax, he is originally from Massachusetts, and adds an electric dimension to the Mya Rose Band. He has played with various musicians and bands throughout his worldly travels. The blues based harps, jazzy sax and dynamic vocal is thoroughly enjoyed and appreciated by all listeners.
Caleb Jacobs is a fantastic musician who is hired on occasion to rock out on the low end or pick melodic riffs on the high end.
The percussion heard is from a number of people, Cornell Young is a long time friend to Mya and a great drummer; Unmentionable Jones is a great drummer who fills in on drums when needed; and Doug Rose is a great percussionist that adds a wonderful flare to all the music.
If you listen quietly you can hear the seagulls in the background faintly, due to the album being recorded outside the ocean.
